The man, Matthias Schriefl, both a native of Allgäu, is an event: as a wind instrumentalist, composer of shrillly beautiful music and self-deprecatingly charming entertainer. This works particularly well (and satisfyingly) with his duo partner, that of the congenial Ukrainian singer and pianist Tamara Lukasheva (among others WDR Jazz Prize winner). If you don't care about musical genre boundaries, "MATRIA" offers plenty of tinder!
